The Coating Processing Line

July 23, 2024

At Henan Worthwill Industry Co., Ltd., we specialize in providing top-quality aluminum products. One of our core processes is the coating of aluminum coils, ensuring they meet the highest standards for various applications. Below is a detailed description of our coating processing line, designed to ensure optimal performance and durability of our products.

Step 1: Decoiling and Material Storage

The process begins by placing the plain aluminum coils into the decoiling machine. From here, the coils pass through the material storage tower, which ensures that the entire processing line remains operational when new coils are introduced. This step is crucial to maintaining efficiency and preventing downtime.

Step 2: Pre-Processing

In the pre-processing stage, the aluminum coils undergo a thorough cleaning process:

  • Degreasing: The coils are first immersed in an alkaline water tank to remove any grease.
  • Rinsing: Next, the coils are rinsed with tap water to wash away the alkaline solution.
  • Neutralizing: The coils are then treated with an acid solution to neutralize any remaining alkali.
  • Final Rinse: Finally, the coils are thoroughly cleaned with pure water to remove all residues.

Step 3: Drying

After cleaning, the coils are dried at a temperature range of 210-230°C. This ensures that all moisture is removed, preparing the coils for subsequent processing steps.

Step 4: Passivation

To enhance the adhesive strength and corrosion resistance, the coils undergo a passivation process. A chromium-based solution is applied, creating a protective layer on the coil surface.

Step 5: First Coating

The bottom of the coils is then coated with either a clear varnish or a white and gray paint, depending on the specific requirements.

Step 6: Drying

The coated coils are dried again to ensure that the coating is properly set and adhered to the aluminum surface.

Step 7: Cooling

After drying, the coils are cooled using an air cooling system or water cooling system to bring them down to a manageable temperature.

Step 8: Drying Again

For coils cooled with a water cooling system, an additional drying step is necessary to remove any residual moisture.

Step 9: Second Coating

Based on customer specifications, a second coating can be applied to the coils, adding an extra layer of protection and enhancing the appearance.

Step 10: Final Drying

The coils undergo a final drying process to ensure the second coating is completely dry and adhered.

Step 11: Final Cooling

The coils are then cooled once more to stabilize the coatings and prepare them for the final steps.

Step 12: Surface Protection

To protect the finished coils, a plastic film is applied to their surfaces. This prevents damage during handling and transportation.

Step 13: Packaging

The coils are then packaged using inner paper tubes with a thickness of about 15-20mm. This provides additional protection and stability.

Step 14: Storage
